Why Security Companies Can’t Simply Block All Ransomware

‌‌Every time a major ransomware attack makes headlines, the same question comes up: if security solutions are so advanced, why don’t they just block everything? It’s a fair question, but it assumes that detection-based security can achieve perfection. ‌Lean too heavily toward blocking and legitimate business operations grind to a halt. Lean too far toward allowing and new, unseen threats slip through.

The uncomfortable truth is that ransomware authors only need to succeed once, while defenders must succeed every time. Detection tools are always reacting to yesterday’s attacks, updating signatures and models after new threats emerge. That’s why prevention alone will never be enough. Organizations must plan for failure, not perfection, ensuring that when ransomware bypasses defenses, they can recover quickly, minimize downtime, and maintain operational continuity.

Steve Bottini Named to 2026 CRN® Channel Chiefs List

NeuShield is proud to announce that Steve Bottini, Channel Chief at NeuShield, has been recognized on the prestigious 2026 CRN® Channel Chiefs list. This annual honor from CRN, a brand of The Channel Company, celebrates IT channel leaders who drive innovation, empower partners, and deliver measurable business impact.

Steve was recognized for expanding NeuShield’s channel program into a modern, platform-based approach to endpoint data security. Under his leadership, partners are better equipped to help customers protect critical data, prevent unauthorized exfiltration, restore entire environments within minutes, and identify risk before it turns into downtime. His partner-first strategy continues to accelerate resilience, recovery, and operational certainty across the channel.

Enhancing Support: Migrating to Microsoft Dynamics 365

As previously announced, NeuShield has been working toward migrating our support ticketing system to Microsoft Dynamics 365, and we are now getting close to completing that transition. This upgrade will modernize our support infrastructure and create the foundation for a more streamlined, integrated experience. While we expect to keep disruptions to a minimum, customers may notice some changes in how Knowledge Base articles are accessed and how new support tickets are created during the migration period.

As always, support requests can be submitted by emailing support@neushield.com. One of the key benefits of the new system will be the ability to view and open support cases directly within the NeuShield Portal, eliminating the need to log into two separate systems. While full portal integration may follow shortly after the initial migration is complete, this move to Dynamics 365 is an important step toward delivering a more unified, efficient, and user-friendly support experience.
